Hi, I'm Genevieve!

I am detail-oriented and have strong conceptual skills. My technical expertise has progressed throughout my schooling and internships which would make me a valuable part of any team. I am well organized and great at strategic planning. I seek to design spaces that are fresh, accessible, and practical. I believe design should combine functionality and accessibility with aesthetically pleasing elements.

My experience at UMass Dartmouth has had lasting transformations on my life. The Interior Architecture and Design BS program has prepared me for a career as an interior designer. I have learned contemporary design techniques, developed a well-rounded background in the field and have pursued internships opportunities. This has allowed me to develop the necessary skills to feel confident and capable to take on any challenge with a positive attitude and great support system.

Work Experience

Civitects Architecture Student Intern - 2022

Fall River, MA

At Civitects, I work with a great team of architects and student interns who take great pride in their work. I assist with construction document drafting using AutoCAD. Most projects fall under DCAMM that range from schools, like my own, UMass Dartmouth to jails.

SGA Architecture Student Intern - Summer 2022

Boston, MA

While at SGA I worked along side devoted and inspirational interior designers. As an intern, I assisted with construction document drafting using Revit, which included red line corrections for partition plans, RCP, furniture and equipment plans, finish plans, elevations and details. Also, I ordered and managed samples for projects as well as aided designers in decision making for finish and material selections. An interesting task was to organize and manage the weekly Lunch and Learns for the office. The job entailed collaborating with vendors to schedule the presentations and on the day of, oversee the event.

Community Service

Southcoast Health - Charlton Memorial Hospital - 2022

Fall River, MA

Explored the design of a restorative outdoor area for the community of Southcoast Hospital. Collaboration with a nursing student from UMass Dartmouth allowed for evidence based design strategies to give back to hospital staff.

Sensory Wing Addition - Sgt. William Carney Memorial Academy - 2022

New Bedford, MA

Designed a sensory wing addition for children with ASD. Best practices achieved through intensive historical, observational and interactive research. A final 50ft x 50ft extension was designed and presented to the community.
